Italian cinema is almost dead, so if I want to be a screenwriter, I must go the United States. Does that mean I should also choose locations in the United States for my stories since they will be acted by American actors?

A friend read your book “Story” and stopped writing, because you said to write only what you know, and he is from Italy and his story was set in a small town near Boston. Is that what you meant?

You say that a writer should write and re-write a screenplay several times, but in my case I often see the scene clearly in my mind and I only have one choice, so I don’t think that it’s possible to write it more than one way.

To build a multi-layered, complex character, you should start at the core and work your way out. Does that also apply to a very young character?
