The new movie (at April 2011) 'Conspirators' is based (I understand) on an historical fact that is not known before.

I think with any historical story you need to provide something new - a new fact, a new angle etc. that must pass the test - 'Oh really? Then what?'

JFK and Inglourious Basterds were both grossly inaccurate from a historical perspective but meticulously accurate in the insignificant details. The results were entertaining though not of much use to anyone. Braveheart on the other hand was inaccurate from both a historical perspective and in its attention to detail. The result however may have lead to the creation of the new Scottish Parliament.
