That's very good. You mention this technique when you screen THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY and I'd forgotten about that.

Now curiously enough.  I watched "The Big House" 1930 late last night on TCM. When this movie was made originally the Protagonist ran off with the wife of his prison rival.  It was taken out to the audience in America and got a bad reception.  So the director sent the screenplay back to the writer and asked her to change it.  She then had wife be his sister instead of wife and film was released.  This time it got a Great reception and I believe won Awards (Oscar) This information was given at end of movie by Presenter (can never remember his name)
